Starting the count with the evening of the IN-auguration, an event that certainly doesn’t augur well for the future of our country, I latched on to a small rush hour march in Chicago. It was a young crowd, a bit of weed in the air, and a mood that was both a little dark and a little festive. At one point a brass band played the Darth Vader theme when a speaker mentioned our new president. The speakers I heard were on the militant side of the spectrum, one denying there would have been much difference if HRC or Bernie Sanders had won. I can’t say I agree with that sentiment, but it was good to vent a little for Black Lives Matter and show some solidarity for others who feel so vulnerable and uncertain about what the future will bring.
